Joan Kleinhenz of Germantown, Wisconsin passed away on November 20, 2023 at age 92.

She was born to Art and Cele Motowski on November 17, 1931. Joan shared many fond memories of growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her younger sister, Bernadette.
Joan received a college degree in Liberal Arts from Marquette University. This is where she met her future husband, Lou Kleinhenz. The story is told that he was her math tutor at the time. Joan and Lou formed many lifetime friendships from their years together at Marquette University.

They married in 1953 and lived life modeling hard work and dedication to their five children. Joan worked for many years at St. Aemilian’s Child Care Center. She loved travel, golf, games and her many dogs, especially Pego and Jessie. Joan lived a life of generosity, giving freely to charities and other causes.

She is survived by her daughters Lynn (Pete) Bartling and Carol (Al) Luterbach; daughter-in-law Diane; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lou, daughters Judy and Kathryn “KC”, son Arthur, son-in-law Fred, and sister Bernadette.

Joan was one special gal! Those of us at the Turtle Creek Condos were blessed to have Joan as a neighbor and a friend! Joan served diligently on the Condo Board for many years…and we thank her! Seeing Joan walking Jesse was a daily occurrence…and we often came out to join them…so Lily (our Maltese) and Jesse and Juliette could all play together. Those were times of pure joy! Those three pooches all ran around like crazy as puppies, and still had puppy energy as grown up dogs. Joan will be missed…but remains in our hearts always. Sincere condolences to Joan’s family!
