Jimmie Ree Stone was born on December 7, 1944 in Fulton, Mississippi to the late Jimmie Ree Stone Sr. and Cornelius Stone. He led a remarkable life filled with love and dedication to his family. From his time at Mississippi Valley State to his years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he worked hard at Johnson Controls for 36 years. Jimmie was a true provider and caring soul. In 1985, he would meet his beautiful wife Sheila, and on April 30, 1988 they embarked on a lifelong journey with one another. Together they raised five wonderful children and made countless memories as a family.
Jimmie enjoyed a range of activities, from sports like softball and basketball, to more leisurely pursuits, like watching his favorite western show “Gunsmoke.” He found joy traveling with his family, and always treasured those moments with his loved ones. A proud member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jimmie’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, evident in his dedication to his family and his deep knowledge of the Bible.
On January 1, 2025 Jimmie peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones at home. Leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Cornelius and Jimmie Stone; Sisters Mary C. Shumpert-Dokes (Known as Cat), Pauline Grice (Known as Bay), Susan Randle, Maxine Ewing, and his beloved son Justin R. Stone. Jimmie survived by his wife Sheila D. Stone, and their four children; Joshua Stone, Ashley Stone, Alanna Stone, and Justin Stone (the second) of Milwaukee, WI. Also including his children Jimmie Stone II and Cornelius Stone of Milwaukee, WI, Richard Shumpert, Kimble Shumpert, Deborah Shumpert, and Fay Shumpert of Fulton, Mississippi; Brother Edward (Doris) Stone of Milwaukee WI, Daisy Stone, Maisy (Thomas) Morris of Fulton, Mississippi. Jimmie also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces, and nephews. Jimmie will be tremendously missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family

Jimmie’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He ran his race with strength and grace, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace Jimmie, your spirit will always be with us.
Visitation will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6700 South Howell Avenue, Oak Creek, Wisconsin on Friday January 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM.
