Dear Patty and Boys, I hope these words find a place in your heart during this difficult time. I offer my deepest condolences for the loss of Jerry, and I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Since the moment I received the heartbreaking news of Jerry's passing into eternity, my heart has been flooded with cherished memories of him. It's been nearly 25 years since we last hung out together, but Jerry's impact on my life has endured. The joyous recollections of our shared laughter and camaraderie have been a bittersweet solace. Many have spoken about Jerry's infectious smile, his laughter, and his outgoing personality. I, too, loved those qualities about him. Our shared moments, especially at your wedding, are etched in my memory. I recall how nervously excited he was, expressing his love for you, Pattikins, and marveling at his good fortune. Al Holmes and I couldn't help but echo his sentiments, playfully changing the lyrics of a song to celebrate the joyous occasion. Hip to be Square became Hip to be Jerr. It went something like this: Jerry is playing Patty real straight: Hip, Hip, so Hip to be Jerr, Hip, Hip so Hip to be Jerr. Those were fun times. There's another facet of Jerry that has left an indelible mark on me—the ability to turn the mundane and the drudgery of work into something truly special. The "Dis and Dat store," remains vivid in my mind. Dressed like a dwarf with a long-bearded hat, Jerry would pedal a large circular saw like a bike, bringing it to life. Crowds, especially children, would gather to witness his craftsmanship as he transformed raw materials into animals, birds, fish, and various creations. The mundane became magical when Jerry worked his unique charm. I regret that our paths have diverged over the last 25 years, but I am profoundly grateful to have called both you and Jerry my friends. Life takes us on different journeys, yet the memories we shared remain a cherished part of my life. Though today may feel like the end, I find comfort in the belief that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. As we face the reality of death, let us remember that Easter Sunday brought about the hope of eternal life through Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. Jerry may have gone ahead of us, but I hold onto the hope of reuniting with him for eternity. May God bless and comfort you during this challenging time. With heartfelt sympathy, Dave

My memories of Jerry began when he was about 8 or 9. His mom babysat for both my niece and my daughter. Jerry was always a happy boy. When my sons were born they were also babysat by the family. My oldest son and Jerry shared a birthday. Jerry will always be remembered for his infectious smile. RiP Jerry. You will be missed.
