In Loving Memory of Jeff LaGrange
August 3, 1970 – April 26, 2024
Jeff LaGrange, a beacon of positivity and a natural leader, left this world too soon on April 26, 2024. Born on August 3, 1970, to Don and Karen LaGrange, Jeff’s life was one marked by dedication, love, and a zest for life that touched everyone he met.
A proud alumnus of the University of Wisconsin Platteville, Jeff graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. His career at Enercon Industries spanned nearly three decades, where he not only excelled as a Product Manager but also brought joy to his colleagues through the annual Enercon Ski Outing, an event that many eagerly anticipated each year.
Jeff’s commitment to his community was evident through his active participation in weekly golf and dartball leagues. But above all, his role as a hands-on father was his most important. As a Cub Scout Den Leader for his son Foster and a steadfast supporter at his daughter Anna’s softball games, Jeff’s love for his children was unwavering. His passion for music led him to the stage as the lead singer and guitarist for The Beauvilles and later as the bass player for The BOOGPODS (Bunch Of Old Guys Playing Old Decendents Songs). His musical legacy, much like his life, was vibrant and full of heart. Jeff’s enthusiasm for pinball was more than just a hobby; it was a core part of his life. His collection of pinball machines in his home arcade was a testament to his love for the game and his skill as an electrical engineer. Jeff not only collected these treasures but also brought them back to life, meticulously repairing and restoring each one.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Susan; his children, Foster and Anna; his stepson, Henry Retzer; his parents Don and Karen LaGrange; his sisters, Debbi (John) Allender and Barb (Mark) Baron; his parents-in-law Ted and Helen Haasch, aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. His former wife, JoEllen Haberlie, mother to Foster and Anna, also shares in this loss.
Jeff’s friendships were lifelong, and his presence will be deeply missed by many.
As we say goodbye to Jeff, we celebrate a life lived with enthusiasm, love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us all. In his memory, let us all “Rock On”.
