Jean Ruth Krueger

Jean Ruth Krueger (nee Orzewalla) went quietly to her heavenly home on Monday, December 30, 2024.

She was born in Milwaukee on April 25, 1930, to Otto and Mary (nee Leben) Orzewalla. Jean and her husband, Dick, were married on March 28, 1953, at Capitol Drive Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, the place they met in Sunday School. Dick and Jean’s wonderful life began in the military and when Dick started his flying career, they became worldwide travelers. They lived in many places and enjoyed their retirement years living on the lakes in and around Minocqua.

Jean loved her family and spending time together was important to her. She was the Cub Scout den mother, chauffeur for piano lessons and baseball games, an exceptional cook and the best pie baker ever! Jean was an artist at heart. She liked to sketch, paint, and write poetry. She was also an extraordinary quilter, creating many keepsake pieces. She was an excellent card player, especially at Bridge. But no matter what the game, Jean liked to win, as her family and friends would agree. She also loved to play golf, go fishing, and cheer on the Packers. She sang in church choirs, volunteered for projects, and cherished her neighbors and church friends.

Jean is survived by her adoring husband, Dick; daughter Robbin; son Scott (Debbie); grandchildren, Daniel and Rachel (Andrew); brother Larry (Jannette); and nephews Matthew (Kristy) and Kyle.

The family extends their gratitude to the nurses and staff of ProHealth Hospice Care, especially phenomenal nurse DeAnna; the wonderful full-time caregivers from BrightStar Care and their extraordinary nurses Dan and Mitch; and AngelsGrace Hospice for its compassion.

Visitation will be held on February 1, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin followed by a memorial service at 12:30 PM in the chapel.
