Jean E. Starr, 89, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away at her home in her husband’s arms on March 18, 2022. Jean leaves behind her loving husband Frank Starr of Milwaukee Wisconsin; children Bob (Chris) Cotey of Wadsworth Ohio; Scott Cotey of Windsor, Wisconsin; Jim (Judie) Cotey of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; Kelley (Laurie) Starr of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; Patty Starr of Milwaukee Wisconsin; Danny Starr (preceded in death); Jean Ann Starr (preceded in death); Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Garett) Foley ; Greg Cotey; Taylor Cotey, Brayden Cotey, Colin Cotey, Courtney Cotey; Claire Cotey; Natalie LeRoy; Tyler (Svetlana) LeRoy; Michael Starr; Megan Starr; Maddi Starr; Clint Sullivan; Great-grandchildren Everett Foley; Harrison Foley; Nora LeRoy. Also survived by her sister Michele (Michael) Dougherty and brother John Montgomery.
Jean was born in Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin on August 15, 1932 to Aubrey and Bernadine Montgomery. Jean graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1950. She continued her education at Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1953 then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 1987. Jean had a lifelong love of nursing and caring for people. She started her nursing career in obstetrics at St. Joseph’s hospital in Milwaukee, worked in the intensive care unit at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls for over 20 years, cared for severe diabetics in Pima County, Arizona, and finished her caring as a visiting nurse in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Jean was enthusiastic about life. Her favorite hobbies included sewing, baking, boating, hiking and vacationing in Door County. She was selfless, generous and tender-hearted, treating everyone she met with kindness and warmth. She will be missed by all. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 3:00 PM – 4:45 PM. Funeral Service to follow at 5:00 PM. Dinner and refreshments starting at 6:00PM following the service.
