James “Jim” Peter Grant

James “Jim” Peter Grant – Found his peace Tuesday May 26, 2026 at the age of 78.

Loving husband of Sara (née Kranick) for 55 years. Proud father of Meghan (David) Koos and Peter (Aria) Grant. Cherished “Boppa” of Eva and Elena Koos, Saoirse, Esther, and James Grant. The oldest of nine children, James is preceded in death by brothers Paul and David. Survived by brothers Kevin (Tami) Grant, Mark, Chris (Stacy) Grant, and sisters Pat (Bill) Beers, Peggy (Scott) Knutson and sister Susan. He is also loved by many nieces, nephews, and members of the extended Kranick family.

Born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, Jim graduated from UW Madison in 1972 with a Masters Degree in Engineering and worked as a Civil Engineer around the Milwaukee area. He attained registration as Wisconsin Professional Engineer (“P.E.) and enjoyed drafting and designing in the general contracting industry.

After retirement, Jim enjoyed volunteering his time with numerous organizations. He will be remembered for the folk music he played on his guitar for family and friends, and his unexpectedly dry one-liners.

A Service of Witness to the Resurrection for Jim will be held at Forest Park Presbyterian Church, 2300 South Sunnyslope Road, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Service will be followed by family and friend visitation, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
