Joined his loving wife, Wilma, on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, only 5 days after her passing. Age 93. Beloved father of Michael (Jane Muehlbach) Murphy, Susan (Ken) Hitchins, Ellen (Mark) Reszczynski, Theresa (Dennis) Moe, and Stephen (Gerie) Murphy. Grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also loved by other relatives and friends.

Visitation at Christ King Catholic Church, 2604 North Swan Boulevard, on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 10:00–11:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

James proudly served in the US Army Air Force during WWII and later was a member of American Legion Post #406. He retired from the US Post Office and also volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital.
