A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed peacefully on June 23.  Born on August 23, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the Margaret and Ralph Van de Kamp. Helene is preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Lenz as well as her siblings William Van de Kamp, Robert Van de Kamp and Bernice Rhode. Also proceeded in death by grandchildren Canton Ossoinik and Tony Pyszczynski and her son-in-law Brian Matthias.

Helene graduated from Messmer High School and went to work for the Department of Agriculture until she married Walter Lenz in 1957. She enjoyed gardening and tending her backyard koi fish pond and her many generations of doberman pinchers (all named Circe).  She will be missed by many, especially her loving daughters Linda Lenz (Rick), Laura Harris (Jack), Lisa Matthias (late Brian Matthias) and Lucinda Schick, as well as her grandchildren Connor Harris (Amy), Cole Harris (Brianna), Devon Matthias (Katrina), Bella Zacharias (Alex). She will be missed by her great grandchildren Karalena Harris, Henry Harris, Sebastian Matthias, Eleanor Matthias, and Bella and Alex’s baby to come in November.

Helene will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.  Her kindness and generosity left a lasting imprint on everyone who ever met her.

Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New berlin, Wisconsin 53151 on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Dear Cousin's; Sorry for the loss of your Mother. There is empirical evidence the likelihood for you living to be as old as Helene is realistic! Mother's and daughter's have a very special bond... the bond may oscillate at times yet always prevail It is precious the long life Helene was privy to and our family. The biggest thing I will always remember is a smiling face. chatting w Grandma Van de Kamp at the dining room table of the Ralph and Margaret Van de Kamp homestead. While they took care of family business and regular rapture us cousins were spoiled by grandma with any snacks we desired. I do remember Helene's Beetle. Saturday tradition was have a home cooked meal or picking up hamburgers. Please be kind and gentle with yourselves and each other in the days ahead. Hugs! Meg Van de Kamp
