Called home to the Lord on December 6, 2020, age 93. Preceded in death by his wife Dolores (nee Froh), parents Harry and Mildred Huenink (nee Mentink), sons, Randall Huenink and Reed Huenink, siblings Carolyn and John. He is survived by his children, Denise (Ned) Kersky and Dan (Monica) Huenink; daughter-in-laws, Lynne Huenink and Sue Huenink; granddaughters, Amanda and Jamie Huenink, Kara and Kristin Huenink; sister Marilyn Pitcher other relatives and friends.

 

Harris was a teacher for over 40 years at West Allis Central High School and Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). He was a WWII Airforce Veteran. Harris and his family spent numerous summers in Gibbsville, WI where they enjoyed cookouts with family. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in northern WI. He was a great storyteller and played songs by memory on the harmonica. His gifts of music and educating others will be missed.

 

A Gathering will take place on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 PM.

Mr. Huenink was my algebra teacher at Central. I remember his strong, bold voice. He's probably trying to get St. Peter to understand polynomial equations now.
