The world became a little quieter on May 22, 2026, when Gregory “Greg” John Bucholc, 51, of Brookfield, Wisconsin left this life far too soon. To those who knew him, Greg was a bright, steady presence – someone who lived with honesty, humor, and a warmth that made ordinary days feel extraordinary.
Greg was born on September 27, 1974, at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois. He grew up in LaGrange, Illinois, where he learned the values that shaped him; work hard, care deeply, and always find a reason to laugh. In 2008, he married Jennifer “Jenni” (nee Bertz) Bucholc, the love of his life and his closest/best friend. Together they built a life filled with laughter, partnership, and a bond that never wavered.
Greg loved cars, good music, hanging out on the boat, his crazy pets, time on the water fishing, and most of all, his family and friends. His positivity lifted others, his caring nature made people feel safe, and his humor could brighten even the heaviest days.
His greatest pride was his family. Greg leaves behind his beloved wife Jennifer Bucholc and his children Olivia Bucholc and Logan Bucholc, his brother Matthew (Lisa) Bucholc, father-in-law Joe Bertz, mother-in-law Patti (Tom) Drangstveit, brother-in-law Brandon (Terran) Bertz, sister-in-law Morgan (Mark) Spencer, and his cherished nephews and nieces, along with close extended family who loved him deeply. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lottie “Lori” Bucholc.
Greg’s life was a gift. His memory will guide us, steady us, and stay with us always.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gregory Bucholc can be made to the American Heart Association.
