Gerald “Jerry” Achtor

Died peacefully on November 24, 2023 at the age of 82. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Edna Achtor and his sister Judy Achtor. Beloved husband of Ramona ‘Mona’ (née Rupnow) of 53 years. Devoted father of Steve (Hannah) Achtor and Daniel (Laura) Achtor. Loving brother of Thomas (BetteJane) Achtor.  Dear grandpa to Silas, Heidi, Ian, and Aaron. He will also be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Jerry studied accounting at UW-Madison, was a member of the Army Reserve, and started Flambeau Stamp & Coin Company.  He was President and owner of RōBand Corporation for 35 years where he took great pride in providing employment to over 80 people at its height. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman – he loved grouse hunting, deer hunting, sailing, skiing, and snowmobiling.  Jerry was especially passionate about Muskie fishing and fond memories were made during many family trips to Lake of the Woods with his family. He loved spending time with all his family members at the family cottage in Northern Wisconsin and at their home in Florida. If you knew Jerry, you knew that he was always quick with a story, a smile, or a lesson, but not always quick with a punchline.

Private family services will be held. Jerry’s celebration of Life will take place in May 2024.
