George Kent Osum

George Osum born into eternal life August 21, 2021 at the age of 84

Husband of JoAnn for 65 years. Father of Jeffrey Osum, Charles (Suzy) Osum and preceded in death by daughter Christi Larson. Son of the late Gladys and George C Osum of Minneapolis. Brother of Karen (Brian) Joyce and Jon McCormick. Grandfather of Aryn Osum, Kevin (Sara) Osum, Alexis Larson, Grant Osum and Marie Osum. Uncle to Jason (Noel) Joyce and Dana (Keith) Johnson. Great-Grandfather to Kenedi De La Rosa and Miles Osum. Also loved by his extended family and many friends.

Born in Minneapolis, George attended South High School where he met his wife JoAnn. He went on to a successful career as an accountant with Alexander & Alexander in Minneapolis where he retired. George was active in softball both as an umpire and player for many years. He picked up golf in his early 40’s and was passionate about playing courses around the world. He moved to the Milwaukee area with JoAnn in 2003 where he enjoyed retirement and worked at Morningstar Golf Club in Waukesha, WI.

George was known for his blunt honesty, wicked humor, sarcastic wit and love of children and babies. He particularly loved his children and grandchildren. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage and liked eating the holiday delicacies Lutefisk, Lefse, and Pickled Herring. Recently, he moved into a nursing home to be with JoAnn where he was able to live out the last two months of life in the same room with the love of his life. He will be missed by all.

A celebration of Georges life will be held at the Morningstar Golf Club, S77W266285 Prairieside Drive Waukesha, Wisconsin on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 11:00 AM. 262-662-1600.
