Besasie, Frederick J. “Fred”
Surrounded by family on the evening of Sunday, October 5, 2025, our Dad walked into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus. He was 95.
He will be lovingly missed by his children – Frederick R. (Lisa), Renee (William), Dena (Duaine) -, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one new great great-grandchild. Dear brother of Joseph (Virginia) Besasie.
Born in 1930 to the late Raymond Sr. and Grace Besasie. Preceded in death by his sister Joanne (the late Frank) Greiczek and his brother Raymond Jr. (Caroline) Besasie.
Fred was proud of his children and loved hunting with his son and grandsons. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs and enjoyed the outdoors, bowling, cooking, travel, dancing, and gardening. Tinkering with his tools was a favorite past time which came in handy when he’d fly to the west coast to help remodel his daughter’s kitchen while she was on pregnancy bedrest.
After 55 years as an Advertising Copy Manager, he retired from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Fred spoke proudly of his service in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Alaska. On October 6, 2024, Fred was deeply honored to take part in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight with his daughter, visiting the Washington D.C. memorials. His Honor Flight hat was one of his favorites.
Fred’s kind, caring and jovial spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center for their compassionate care and support, as well as during his final weeks, the nursing care from Aurora Health at Home.
Family and Friends, please join us in celebrating Fred’s life on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Krause Funeral, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI. Visitation and Italian cookies from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s name to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight are appreciated.
