Frederick Whitney Call was born on April 4, 1947 in New York City. He was always interested in learning and earned his Bachelors in 1969 from Carnegie Mellon, Masters in Math and Science in 1971 from University of Chicago and PhD in Algebra and Math in 1979 from University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
He was a math professor at various universities in the United States and England.
Despite his poor vision, he was determined to enjoy life to it’s fullest, enjoying travel, music, the arts, puzzles and scrabble. He also enjoyed volunteering at Milwaukee Public Museum.
He is survived by his brother, Stephen, of New Jersey, dear friend, Judy, and many other friends. He appreciated the assistance provided to him by the staff at St. Camillus and St. Camillus Hospice.
He will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 West Nash Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 22,2025 at 10:30 AM. Meet in the lobby.
