Euranna C. Blathers, affectionately known as “Rainy,” was born on October 4, 1943 to proud parents Douglas and Eunice Rout in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Being of Christian heritage, in her early years she attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and later attended Roosevelt Junior High and North Division High School.
In 1958 Euranna met the love of her life, James E. Blathers. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on March 14, 1960. To this union four children were born. Euranna was a very devoted wife and mother while focusing on a career with the U.S. Postal Service. She was very hardworking, starting out as a Postal Clerk, then elevating to Sales and Service Associate, and eventually Distribution Clerk. It must be said that Euranna was, as many have shared, a very giving, kind, generous person who loved God and would go to great lengths to help others. She has been a blessing to many.
Euranna went to be with her Lord on May 3rd, 2026 peacefully.
“1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me. 2
In my Father’s house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:1-3)
Euranna leaves to cherish her memory: a son, James Edward II of Milwaukee, three daughters, Wynette of Atlanta, GA, Renee of Milwaukee, WI, and Brandi of Chicago, IL, four brothers, Douglas, Mark, Michael, and Dwight of Milwaukee, WI; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of special nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
