Elton, along with his parents and siblings, moved to Chicago, Illinois before he was the age of one and then proceeded to make their way to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Elton received his formal education at Fulton School and North Division High School in Milwaukee. He accepted Jesus as his loving lord and savior at a very young age.
For the last forty years Elton’s gift to the world has been his passion for cooking. He held numerous Head Chefs’ positions at places like Saz’s State House, the Milwaukee Art Museum and Potawatomi Hotel and Casino where he took pride in his skills. A very friendly and familiar face in the workplace Elton will always be remembered as being funny, helpful, kind and always on time. With a smile that could light up any room he enjoyed cooking at home, listening to the sounds of the Stylistics and traveling with his wife and grandchildren.
A man who could never sit down it wasn’t rare to come to his home and see him painting the house, fixing on the garage or maintaining his prized lawn with his grandson. He was smart, talented and strong. Elton was loved and appreciated until his final breath.
Elton is preceded in death by his mother Janice Liggins, his father Esten Liggins and his niece Janice Liggins.
He leaves behind his loving wife and companion for the last twenty-two years Cassandra Adams, three children, Erica, Charday and Brandon Curry, two step-children, Carice and Caress Adams, two brothers Charles Liggins (Rosalinda), and Lester Liggins, two sisters, Juanita Whitmore and Shonda Milton, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren that loved him dearly.
