Elizabeth C. “Liz” White passed away at her home in Oxford, Wisconsin, on September 26, 2023.
Liz was born on November 8, 1933, to Peter and Eva Wess in Chicago, Illinois. Upon completing high school, she attended St. Mary’s of Nazareth Nursing School and earned her Registered Nurse License. She was married to Charles R. “Chuck” White for 63 loving years. Liz was a stay-at-home mom for many years and always expressed how fortunate she was to be at home with her children during their formative years. She was selfless, understanding, forgiving, and patient. Her unconditional love was ever present.
Liz was also a lifelong active member of the Catholic Church and took joy in being involved in many parish activities. She started the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Queen of Apostles Church, leading a group of 80 members. Initially, the ministry began with knitted shawls to help those grieving after losing a loved one. It then expanded to making various items for baptisms, school-aged children, and veterans. She took much pride in leading the ministry for twenty years.
Liz is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Eva Wess, her brother, Arlen Wess, and sister Marie Bahr. Her husband, Charles C. “Chuck” White, also preceded her in death. She is survived by eight children: Maureen White, Barbara (Jerry) Barnes, Vicky (Arnie) Boivin, Laura (Troy) Shaw, Susan (Paul “Vito”) Ennamorato, Margaret “Peggy” White, Linda (Steve) Belich, and Paul (Tanya) White.
