Mr. Tyson, it was a privilege having you as a Grandfather to your eldest grandson. You helped me put a smile on a once then eight year old young man. I have been forever grateful for you. I appreciate your children as they love you with pure hearts that only a parent could adore. To my best friend Spencer and his sisters, I pray for strength, peace and understanding. If only a little more time was alotted, your family could love on you a little more. God said your service on earth was done, and now your legacy shines through your future generations forever more. Because a part of you is within your children's bloodline, you are forever present. On behalf of your grandson Derkice Omar and the Gantt, Blunt, Whitfield and Wilson family, we bid you much gratitude and a lovely rest in the arms of God Almighty. Rest In Divine Power and God's Glory.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

As my sister Sydney and my daughter Molly have already said, Tyson was so very important to and loved by my parents and our whole family for over 20 years. We loved him and Marylin dearly. He was and Marylin still is family to us. Our family is Jewish and the highest complement we can give a man is to say he was a "mensch" ( a yiddish term). And Tyson was the quintessential mensch. He was kind, gentle yet strong, wise yet modest, and cared deeply and selflessly, May he rest in peace.

Marilyn we pray that your pain also reminds you of the many victories you and Tyson accomplished and shared in your relationship of marriage and ministry. The level of grief we endure is equivalent to joy we experienced. We all celebrate his ministry, life, and legacy that changed others who will change others, and for that we are grateful. We Love you, Jake & Leona Gaines, Belleville Michigan

Uncle Ed I will always cherish our memories from a baby you given me the nick name "Pretty". You given me my first musical instruments a Harmonica and a lead guitar. Well I played the Harmonica to the best of my ability. When my Dad Iinformed you that I was in the band and playing the alto saxophone. You were so excited. I will forever cherished playing the saxophone for you outside in the front yard. Take your rest Uncle Ed. I will miss you visiting us. I'm grateful I got a chance to hear you say "Hey Pretty". One more time. Take your rest Uncle Ed. God has given us Strength and we will lean on each other. You were special to us. Love "Pretty" Genesis

Tyson (Ed) My Brother in law. A Mighty Man of Valor! You will be deeply miss. I will forever cherished our conversations, visits and the fond memories of teaching you a new song and we often laugh about how to make sure you stayed on beat. You exemplified how a husband should love his wife, family and friends. You had a heart of gold and a Man of God who was after God on heart. Yes, we are hurting but the Joy of the Lord is our strength. Your memories will forever be in our hearts. Rest in Love brother in law. Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Love ❤️ Olivia

Tyson was one of a kind. A true angel. He cared for my grandpa for years through his battle with dementia. He always had the warmest presence and he brought ease and peace wherever he was. I will never forget the way my grandpa would literally look up at him, with the most adoring eyes. He deeply trusted Tyson and for good reason. Tyson treated him with the utmost respect and dignity until the very end. Our family will forever be impacted by Tyson’s kindness and compassion. We are lucky to have known him and loved him. Marilyn, you two are everything good in this world. You will always be apart of our family and we are always here for you. I am thinking about you and wrapping you tight in my thoughts and prayers. We love you.

Big Brother you will be deeply missed. We shared a bond like no other. from our Sunday morning phone calls to midweek calls. The visits, fishing trips I will always cherished. You even had a chance to ride my motorcycle. You had a heart of gold and a gentle spirit. I am grateful for the years that we shared together. Your memories will forever be engraved upon my heart. I love you Big Brother Bill.

Tyson was one of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. He was my father’s caregiver for many years when my father developed dementia in his early 70s. Tyson treated him with the utmost care and patience. My entire family leaned on Tyson during those years. Tyson has remained involved with our family for 20 years, and we consider him and Marilyn family. Marilyn cared for our mother for years too until very recently in the same lovely way as Tyson did for our father. We will miss Tyson’s warmth, calmness and reliability so much. We were all heartbroken to hear of his illness and his death. Our world won’t feel the same without him.
