Edward Jermaine Bryant blessed the earth with his presence on February 25, 1974, to the union of Eddie Wayne and Glenda Joyce (Hardaway) Bryant of Meridian, Mississippi.   Jermaine loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, and wondering about playing with any moving creature he found. He enjoyed playing with his friends and even though he enjoyedContinue Reading

I was very saddened to hear the news of Edward's passing. I just saw him not too long ago and so hearing this was a shock. I had the pleasure of working with Edward years ago in our BR days and he was always fun to work with. He was nice to everyone he encountered and he just livened up the atmosphere with his humor and his smile. You could be having a stressful day but Edward was so laid back he just put you at ease. I'm happy to say that even after we no longer worked together I still was fortunate enough to see Edward regularly when he came to visit me. I always felt a little guilty as we talked one another's ears off and he never had much time to shop. Still it was a treat to see him every month or two and not lose touch with him. We always had a lot to talk about including all of his girls. My deepest condolences to his family as a know a soul like Edward will be deeply missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Edward at Banana Republic many years ago. When he left BR we built a friendship that lasted many years. He would come into the store regularly on Saturday afternoons. I was always excited to talk to him about one of his new vintage finds that he scouted out online or at Goodwill. We have children the same age so we would compare notes and talk about how proud we were of their accomplishments. He will be forever in my heart.

Edward and his family were our neighbor for 10 years and even after they moved, we remained friends. The girls would trick-or-treat and loved playing on the big swing. I enjoyed talking to Edward while we worked out at the Shorewood fitness center and I always walked away with a smile. We will you Edward but your strength as a husband, father and friend will live on in Delora, Azariah, Ashai and Ayanna. Rest in peace my friend and our sympathies to Delora and your daughters.

Jermaine was my neighbor for 10 years and he, and his family, made raising children a joy. Our families spent many nights talking outside as our children played together on the swingset or riding bikes. They gave many kind words of encouragement and made our neighborhood fun. After a huge snowfall, Delora came to my door to celebrate the cancelation of our daily activities and let me know Jermaine would snowplow our driveway so our kids could spent hours playing in the snow...it was a great day. Jermaine/Edward supported me as a business owner and worked with me to get bank support and celebrated steps towards racial integration in Shorewood. He wanted more black families to join him walking their children to the schools. We'll get there Jermaine! Jermaine always helped and offered a kind word while being a true friend. Our sympathies to his wife Delora, and their three children Azariah, Ashai, and Ayanna.

Edwards' passing is a loss for all who knew him, and for the communities he served. I loved working with Edward on the board of Fondy Food Center and breaking bread with him at several Fondy Feasts. He showed his respect for all through his gentle, friendly character and impeccable style. Sincerely, Sophie Kramer

Edward was my friend and colleague. And was taken far too early. He classed up any room he was in, with his attire and ready smile. I admired him and I will miss him.

Sending prayers and thoughts of encouragement to the family. Ed was a former colleague and will definitely be missed. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready to "battle" or "defend" his logic regarding his points of view. I remember one time, for a week straight, he would bring in these newspaper comic clippings and ask me what I thought about them.....this was the start of a great debate :)....we'd be in my office talking about that 1 clipping for at least 30 minutes or until he realized how long he'd been sitting. I will cherish those moments. Love, Light, Peace, and Blessings to the family
