Edward Charles Maly passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, age 91.
Dear husband of more than 70 years to Jeanine. Beloved father of Elaine (Thomas Taubert) Maly, Mary Jo (Matthew) Lerch, and Joseph Maly. Also survived by six grandchildren—Samuel and Benjamin Hitz, Brian and Lisa Lerch, Amanda Henrichs, and Wade Maly. Great grandchildren – Noah, Ezra and Bronson Hitz, Johnathan Lerch, Layla and Wyatt Henrichs. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Wiesehuegel and nieces and nephews.
Born in Phillips, Wisconsin to Charles and Mary Maly, Ed grew up in Milwaukee where he graduated from Boys Tech High School and later married Jeanine Miller. They moved to Hartland, WI in the 1970’s.
Ed had a successful career as a tool and die maker and engineer beginning with his apprenticeship at Cutler Hammer. He also worked at Dickten and Masch and eventually retired from Plastocon.
An avid hunter and lover of dogs, he was happiest in the north woods at his cabin in Athelstane, WI. He and Jeanine enjoyed their retirement and spent several winter seasons in Paradise Park in McAllen, Texas.
Ed will be remembered for his unstoppable work ethic. Ed was always a busy guy with lots of projects. His grandfather’s Model T still runs! His family and friends have countless stories of time spent with him that will live on for generations.
Please join us to celebrate his life and share our “Ed” stories on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, at Shorehaven Chapel, 1305 West Wisconsin Avenue, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, with visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral Mass to begin at 2:00 PM. Reception to follow.
