Duane C. Luick – A life faithfully lived deserves to be faithfully remembered. Born to eternal life joining his beloved daughter Jennifer, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, age 84.

He was born to Herbert and Rose Luick on September 1, 1938, and raised with his sister Lorrie (Harold) Bruss. Married 52 years, he is survived by his loving wife and best friend Karen (nee Couillard). He is also survived by his children, Jeffrey (Michelle) Luick, Kimberly Thomas (Wil Hundt) and Kim (Nathan) Leinweber. He was blessed to have been loved by grandchildren, Colton Mueller and Mckinley Leinweber, together with Justin Oldenhoff, Christine (Gregory) Zerbe, Britney (Brad) Hermanson, Daniel Thomas, Melissa (James) Maas, Ashley Luick and Samantha (Jameson) Altretuer and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Raised in Milwaukee, he graduated from Wauwatosa High School, later serving in the US Air Force until being honorably discharged in 1958. His thirty-two years of dedication as an officer of the Milwaukee Police Department advanced him to Vice Squad Detective until retirement in 1992. During his tenure he was an active member of the 40 Tribunes; a group of forty detectives who held fundraisers to support Cystic Fibrosis. For the next 5 years he worked for the State of Wisconsin Gaming Commission. He was an elected Town Supervisor of Waterford and also served on the Waterford Planning Commission. Duane not only served his country and the citizens of Milwaukee, but also served the people who crossed his path by living the most important commandment of all; “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Duane enriched the lives of all his family and friends by sharing the things he loved; boating on the lake, golfing, home entertaining and traveling. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Gathering will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 South 6th Street, Waterford, 53185, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM. Memorial service at 1:00 PM.
