I never remembered his name, but I remembered his intention, integrity, and intellect. He helped Summerfest employees/Security train and prepare for the upcoming season. I learned a lot from him, and his presence will be missed. May God Rest His Soul.

As I prepare myself for attending a funeral tomorrow, I’ve had some time to think, some time to enjoy memories, some time to cry, but most of all, I’ve had time to think about how this person has affected so many people‘s life. This man is a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, police officer, deputy inspector, police chief, metal detector guru, security officer, leader, mentor, man of reason, and a person I am proud to call my friend. As I look back and remember some of the things that Don has done that will live on forever, when you walk through the gates at the Summerfest grounds and you see law enforcement officers in high visibility vest, remember Don started that program, when you walk through a metal detector at the Brewers, bucks, and Summerfest remember Don started those programs and was the person behind the training of those programs, if you are a police officer in the city of Milwaukee, many of those officers were trained and commanded through ranks by Don. As you go into the village of Big Bend, a lot of the safety programs were started by chief Gaglioni. When you go to your local place of worship, movie theater or Apple Store, Don has worked protecting the customers and employees working security. When you look at Milwaukee, Police Department K9 unit, Don was one of the first handlers. So as you can see, Don has touched many many peoples lives. But the greatest side that I saw of Don, was the love that he gave to his kids, his family and his friends. Don was always there to give you a helping hand and he was always there to help JENNA and Donnie when they needed something. Don was always someone I could call to ask a question, lean on his shoulders or just talk about a problem. The best thing that I can say is that I had the luxury of knowing Don, working with Don and calling Don one of my great friends. Don, you’ll be missed by many but trust me brother we will never forget you and we will always be there for your kids and family just like you have been there for me and mine. As I prepare to remember you tomorrow and pay my last respects, I will

I’ll miss you yelling out your office door if I didn’t say “Hi” fast enough when I came into the department,, and the “hello young lady” when I finally made it around the corner. You were the only one that could successfully sneak up on me.. We were looking forward to more “outside of work” get togethers we were talking about. Thank you for being an all around amazing person & welcoming me into the “police family.” I’ve never felt more welcome & more included - and I was just a souse if one of your officers.. You’re a one in a million kind of person & you’re missed beyond words.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
