Of Milwaukee, WI. Born into eternal life on December 15, 2016, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Beulah (Eichler) Star for 63 years. Donald served his country in the Army, during the Korean War, from 1951 to 1953. He was a church soloist with a good tenor voice for many of his younger years. He also served in his church in many other ways – taught Sunday School, did the Sunday School openings, sang in the choir, was a Scripture reader, and served on Church Council as the Financial Secretary. His business career was spent in Data Processing, primarily at A. O. Smith Corp. for 20 years, and at Engman-Taylor Co. for 16 years. Retirement was spent enjoying family and church life, as well as watching the Brewer and Packer games.
Don credits an old Army buddy for something special. During his Army years, Don wrote letters to several gals back home. One day, while having coffee with Army buddy, Alexander Hamilton, Don shared special qualities about one of his gals, Beulah. Alexander said, “If I had a gal like that, I’d marry her.” Don went straight to a phone, called Beulah, and proposed!
Family members who are missing him are: wife: Beulah; brother: Richard (Dick) Star; 4 children: Donna (Richard) Olson, Bill (Cheri) Star, Kim (Barry) Star-Voss, and Dianne Star (Carol Bulchuck); 8 grandchildren: Emily (Alex Streske), Ben, and Jessica Olson,; Jill (Marcus) Sutton, Charissa (Michael) Domizioli, and Tim Star; Sarah (Dre Carpenter) and Micah (Jennifer) Voss; and 12 great-grandchildren: Roman, Caitlin, Hunter, Natalie, William, Daniel, James, John, Jaylen, LaMondre, Lily, and Raven, with another great-grandchild expected in June.
