Donald E. Hamilton

Called home to the Lord, November 26, 2021, age 86. Survived by loving wife, Ruth. Beloved father of Kim (Deanna) Petrillo, Jan Sanchez, Jill (Sean) Kennedy, and late stepson, Todd Kempf. Former step-father-in-law of Tracy (Bill) Fitters. Blessed with grandchildren; Amanda (partner Chad) Harmatys, Nicholas Harmatys, Cameron Sanchez, Samantha Meach and Derek Meach and great grandchildren; Damien, Angelica, Helena, Francesca, Nathan, Sophia and Isla. Step-Grandchildren: Ashley Ahrens; Megan (Dirk) Harding; Elizabeth (Shane) Tanner, and Victoria (Austin) Buchholz. Step-Great Grandchildren: Isabella, Madelyn, Ashton, Theodore, Joslyn, Emma, and Jace. Dear brother of Wayne (Audrey) Hamilton, Gary (Jackie) Hamilton, Linda Speth, Kathy Meyers, Wendell Meyers, Becky (Leroy) Messler, Jane ( Chuck) Sparrgrove, Brian (Kay) Hrubes, Denise (Keith) Riley, Joanne (Bob) Hildman, and Wanda (Mike) Casper. Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Catherine Hamilton; sisters, Nancy Hamilton and Patricia Thommesen; brothers-in-law, Ivar Thommesen and Daniel Meyers and; sister-in-law, Wilma Bassoff; mothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ruth Meyers; and father-in-law, Howard Meyers. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Donald was a Master Mason and Past Master of Wisconsin Lodge #13 F & AM. Military Honors to follow. Employed at City of West Allis Water Dept. for 37 years. Served in the US Army Reserves. His hobbies included being a wood craftsman, and he enjoyed weight lifting, bird watching, attending movies, watching TV shows, MASH, Andy Griffith and Gomer Pyle, hunting and fishing, and he was a Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. He loved spending time with Ruth. Enjoyed helping others. Don was a jokester, loved to laugh, and adored all animals. Special pets were Big Red and Dusty Prince. He was a Nathan Hale Graduate.
