Dolores was born on January 27, 1952 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2022. She leaves behind her loving son, Lasae, and her daughter-in-law, Crystal Simpson. She had three beautiful grandchildren that she cherished, Amiyah, Alayah and Aylen; they endearingly called her “Grandma.” Lasae was her only son and the apple of her eye. She made sure that as a young man he had a holistic experience growing up, that he was culturally balanced in his surroundings, intellectually challenged by attending top tier schools and supported in all of his athletic endeavors.
Those who knew and loved Dolores knew that her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending quality time with them and learning all about their greatest desires. Just as she did with Lasae, she wanted to make sure they experienced things such as trips to the library, plays, and eating lots of good and healthy food. They knew it was only on rare occasions they would get sweets with their grandma.
When she wasn’t spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed being exposed to the finer things in life. Traveling, gardening, dining at fine restaurants, reading, and expanding her knowledge in all areas were common for her. Shopping at Macy’s, bird watching, laughing, telling stories, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with close family and friends brought her a lifetime of joy. Let us not forget her love of Jeopardy; don’t interrupt her daily dose of Jeopardy time!
“Mom, Grandma, although you have gone on to be with the Lord, you will never be forgotten, always appreciated and forever loved.”
