Debra Grady was born on October 8, 1963, at 10:36 a.m., to the late Daisy Mae Fox and Thurmon Grady. The youngest of seven children, she grew up on Milwaukee’s north side alongside her beloved siblings: Helen Gene Hibbler (Houston), Gloria Joyce Carr (Eugene), Lafayette Grady (Thelma), Glenn Grady, Ruth Regina Scott (Derrick), and Sheila Avery.
From a young age, Debra was known within her family for her tenacity, ambition, and extraordinary work ethic. She was a natural risk taker—unafraid to live life on her own terms—and was deeply respected by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Debra received her high school diploma from Milwaukee Area Technical College and quickly built a life marked by independence and determination. She consistently maintained multiple streams of income and was the first among the youngest three siblings to earn her driver’s license, purchase a car, and become a homeowner. Everything she acquired in life; she earned through perseverance and dedication.
Debra dedicated over 20 years to serving in the healthcare industry as a nurse assistant. In her later years, she expanded her talents into new paths, working as a trainer for Amazon and rising as a social media influencer. Her passion for politics led her to establish a strong presence on TikTok, where she reached over 23,000 followers and accumulated more than 500,000 likes and shares. She aspired to continue her community involvement by one day serving as a city council member.
In the year 2000, Debra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized at The Way of the Cross Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an usher. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Debra became a mother at a young age and devoted her life to ensuring her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren understood their limitless potential—so long as they put God first. She welcomed her first child, Delon Grady, on December 19, 1978. Delon later blessed her with five grandchildren: Delon Grady Jr., Kordell Grady, Javon Grady, Jalen Grady, and Talea Grady. Through Kordell, Debra was gifted her first great-grandchild, Kentrell Grady.
Her second son, Darnell Grady, was born on November 11, 1981. Darnell blessed her with two grandchildren: Darnell Grady Jr. and Davontae Grady.
Her youngest child, Isaiah Grady, was born on September 18, 1990. Isaiah blessed her with two grandchildren: Sanayah Grady and Ayana Grady.
To many, Debra Grady was a provider, a confidant, and a source of unwavering strength. To her family, she was the person everyone could depend on—for a safe place to lay their heads, for a listening and nonjudgmental ear, and for wisdom spoken always in love. Whether she was urging someone to “make it make sense” or gently encouraging them to seek healing through therapy, Debra’s guidance came from the deepest place of care.
Her legacy of resilience, love, independence, and faith will forever live on in the countless lives she touched.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Funeral Service at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Way of the Cross Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 West Hadley Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53206. Procession to Graceland Cemetery to follow.
