Deborah Ann Heppe Wheat, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed peacefully into eternal life on July 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 10, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Deborah lived a life defined by warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

A proud graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wisconsin and a lifelong Catholic, Debbie’s faith was her foundation. She found joy in the simple things, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, watching NASCAR, tending to her garden, and camping under the stars. But above all else, Debbie’s greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William Wheat; her parents, Donald and Patricia Heppe; her children, Jessica (Michael Wendling), Sheri (Matthew Byrge), and Tiffany (Ryan Michalski); and her grandchildren, Cole and Max Wendling, and Savanah and Reed Byrge. She was a loving mother by marriage to Devin (Kelley) Wheat and Kyle Wheat, as well as a proud grandmother by marriage to Kaitlyn and Darren Wheat.

She leaves behind her cherished siblings, John (Kathy) Heppe, Anthony (Rita) Heppe, Michael (Debra) Heppe, Mary (Tim) Flanary, and Kathleen Heppe; her uncles, Kenneth (Janet) Heppe and James (Karen) Heppe; her aunt, Marjorie Narlock; and many nieces and nephews.

Debbie was genuine, funny, selfless, and spunky; impossible not to love and unforgettable once you met her. She brought joy, sarcasm, and unwavering kindness into every room. Her love was the constant in her family’s life, and her absence leaves a space no one else can fill. Though she has left this world, her light lives on in every laugh, every bloom, and every cherished memory.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, there will be a gathering time held at Krause Funeral Home (12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, WI) from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am. Debbie will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.

A Memorial Mass was also held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL on July 22, 2025.
