David Karl Johnson

It is with profound sadness that our family shares the passing of David, August 12, 2026 at age 74 after a horrible battle with cancer.

Doting and loving husband of Barbara Johnson (nee Peters) of almost 52 years and life partner of almost 54 years and cherished and protective father of Tarrah Johnson.

In addition, he is further survived by Alma “Bunny” Paul of Montello and Peter (Cheryl) Johnson of Deforest. Godfather of Ian Johnson, caring uncle of a great many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins and In-laws.

“Adopted” Dad of Amanda Price (nee Johnson), Jennifer Martin (nee Williams), Catherine Brown and a great many more.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, David Robert and Eleanore Johnson, sister Jean Landgraf (nee Johnson) and many other cherished family and friends.

He leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, stories and family whose hearts will never be the same.

Born October 21, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the family moved shortly after to New York State. The family moving back to Wisconsin when he was a toddler for his fathers work. A long-haul truck driver of 30 plus years. He always said the scenery was so good up high in the truck.

His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. There will be an empty chair, a quiet moment when we will instinctively expect to hear his voice and countless times we will wish to call him on birthdays, holidays, and random Tuesday afternoons.

You will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever a part of all of us.

A Celebration of life will be held on August 29, 2026 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capital Drive. Brookfield, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM – 1:45 PM.  Services to immediately follow at 2:00 PM.
