David John Gamalski

David “Dave” John Gamalski passed away on August 13, 2026 at age 61 after an 8 week hospital stay. He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Dawn who passed away 13 months prior. He is now at peace and no longer suffering.

He was the son of the late Raymond K Gamalski and the late Marcella (nee Mokwa) Gamalski. Dave is survived by his three siblings: Greg (Judy) Gamalski, Barbara (Dan) Plautz and Diane (Richard) Kickbush and his much loved black lab, Colt. He is remembered as a loving son-in-law of King P. Coles, Sr. and the late Darlene E. Coles and the beloved brother-in law of Annette (Konrad) Ellenberger and King P. Coles II (Nancy). He was a fond uncle of Lori (Brian) Brenegan, Lisa (Matt) Walsh, Kristin (Pat) Hartung, Danny (Rachel) Plautz, Cheryl (Bill) Franklin, Jim (Bridget) Plautz, Greg (Amber) Plautz, Sandy Plautz (Tyler Wacholtz), Jessica (Joe) Kuschewski, Ryne Kickbush, John (Erica) Ellenberger, Courtney Coles, Christin Coles, Cassandra Coles, and King Coles, III (Kristen) and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also reunited in Heaven with his niece Jessica Ellenberger, great-niece Madyson Marshel, and cousins Dean and Dana Walk.

Dave was an expert grill master and would tackle grilling anything on his charcoal Weber grill. His grilled chicken wings could have won awards and was the number one request for family gatherings. He loved vacationing in St Germain, WI. His two great passions were hunting and fishing. Spring and summer he loved to fish but he couldn’t wait for Fall and getting a chance to pheasant hunt with his wife, black labs and friends and relatives. He also loved deer hunting and of course hunting all types of water fowl. Fishing on any body of water was also a favorite and in winter there was ice fishing. Summers also included spending time with Dawn’s family on their island on Pewaukee Lake. All of his passions included his wife since they shared all the same passions and really loved being together.

Special thanks to his good friend John Diedzic, owner of Nature’s Way Game Farm in Neosho where Dave and Dawn frequently hunted pheasants. John adopted Dave’s dog, Colt. We know Colt will be loved and well cared for since John’s dog also happens to be Colt’s dad.

A memorial gathering to remember Dave will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday August 28, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 6:45 PM, followed by Celebration of Life service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be held privately at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
