Darlene Jean (Arneson) Shaw, born September 9, 1947, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 12, 2026.
Darlene was the beloved wife of Gary Shaw, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Jennifer and David; her grandchildren and great-granddaughter; niece Ariel “Connie” (Steve) Crowe and many cherished friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ramona Arneson, and her brother, Ronald Arneson
A woman of profound empathy and skill, Darlene dedicated much of her life to the care and service of others. She graduated as a Trained Practical Nurse from Rochester, Minnesota Area Vocational Institute in 1971 and was licensed by the State of Wisconsin Board of Nursing. As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), she held a deep, lifelong connection to the Deaf community. She channeled this passion into a long and meaningful career as a certified Sign Language Interpreter, proudly serving the Deaf community across Milwaukee County since 1984.
Darlene loved Jesus deeply and lived her faith through her love and care for others. She was an avid cook who enjoyed bringing family and friends together around the table. She loved music, loved to dance, and had a spirit that could light up a room.
Though her family grieves her loss, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace with her Lord and reunited with loved ones in Heaven.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue in New Berlin, Wisconsin at 12:00 PM, with a ceremony following to celebrate Darlene’s life at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
