Daniel Lyn Wallace, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, entered peacefully into eternal life on April 29, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Daniel was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, on March 7, 1945, to Harold and Jean (Long) Wallace.
He moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1966 and began working at Wisconsin Steel where he would continue to work very hard, for many years, to provide for his family.
In 1971, he met his beloved wife, Patricia (Baugher). They were married on May 6, 1972, at St. Anthony’s Church in Quincy, Illinois. They remained married for just short of 54 beautiful years, until the day of his passing.
Daniel and Patricia went on to have three children; Shelley Lynn (Wallace) Pietras, Eric Daniel Wallace, and Daniel Harold Wallace. Patricia and all 3 children survive.
Daniel is further survived by his adoring grandchildren; Joseph North, Brianna (North) Laufer and her husband Jackson Laufer, Baylie Pietras, Kayla Wallace, Nolan Wallace, and Baby Laufer, his first great grandchild due this November.
Daniel is also survived by two brothers; Leslie (Sharon) Wallace, and Ronald Wallace, two sisters; Donna Abernathy and Judith Ptacek, and many nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jean Wallace, and two brothers; Harold (Butch) Wallace and Mark Wallace.
Daniel, or Dan as everyone knew him, grew up on a farm and always loved the country life. He often traveled “Up North” to his hometown of Ladysmith or nearby Tony, Wisconsin, where he had a piece of land, to spend time in the peaceful outdoors. He absolutely loved fishing and hunting. It was never a surprise to find him sitting on the pier, fishing pole in his hand, just enjoying the summer breeze.
Being from Wisconsin, he enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Bucks but there was not a sports team he loved more than the Packers. He was their biggest fan. He loved spending a Sunday afternoon watching football and playing catch or tug of war with his fur buddies Hollie and Cooper.
Dan also loved Christmas. He was forever buying new Christmas decorations. He always made sure that Christmas was magical for his family. It brought him so much joy.
Dan will be forever missed and always loved.
Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will take place in Tony, Wisconsin on July 18, 2026.
We would like to thank everyone in the St. Luke’s CICU for all of the wonderful care they provided.
