Corinne LaVerne (Hagen) Seflow, age 92, passed away on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Corinne was born November 12, 1933, in West Allis, Wisconsin, the oldest child of Elmer and Helen Hagen. She grew up in West Allis and attended West Allis Central High School.
On October 1, 1955, Corinne married the love of her life, DeVere John Seflow, at Mount Hope Lutheran Church. Together, they shared nearly 71 years of marriage and raised four children: Kent, Karen, Dana and Eric.
In 1979, Corinne and DeVere moved to their longtime home on West Harding Place, which became the center of family life for decades. Family holidays were celebrated there, and their children and grandchildren have countless memories of time spent together as a family, including long summer days around the backyard swimming pool.
Family was at the heart of Corinne’s life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured the family that grew around her and DeVere. Their home was a gathering place, and the many holidays, celebrations and ordinary days spent together created memories that will remain with our family for generations.
Corinne’s Christian faith was a central part of her life. Mount Hope Lutheran Church held a very special place in her heart throughout her lifetime. It was where she and DeVere began their marriage and remained an important part of her life and faith for decades.
Corinne also worked for Midwest Express Airlines. Her family remembers her fondness for the airline’s famous chocolate chip cookies—a small but enduring memory of that chapter of her life.
In retirement, Corinne and DeVere especially enjoyed leaving Wisconsin winters behind and spending time in Jensen Beach, Florida. Their winters there were a much-loved part of their retirement years together.
Later in life, Corinne and DeVere moved to Village at Manor Park, where they continued their remarkable life together.
Corinne is survived by her husband of nearly 71 years, DeVere John Seflow; her brother, David (Terry) Hagen; her four children, Kent (Linda Wittmann) Seflow, Karen (Greg) Crump, Dana (Nancy) Seflow, and Eric (Karen) Seflow; and her grandchildren, Jordan (Rosy) Seflow, Jacob (Tanith) Seflow, Justin (Jennifer) Seflow, Derek Crump, Andrea Crump, Leanne (Graham) Serchen, Robert Boese, Tyler Seflow, Rebecka (Codie Arnold) Seflow, and Hannah (Brady Molkentine) Seflow.
She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Sullivan, Camryn, Mackenzie, Jenna, Walker, Logan, Jameson, Weston and Levi, as well other relatives and friends who were fortunate to share in her life.
Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Helen Hagen, and her sisters, Sylvia Schubring and Sandra (Peter) Gruenberger.
Corinne leaves behind a family spanning generations and nearly 71 years of marriage to DeVere. Her life was grounded in faith, family and the simple joy of having the people she loved together. From holidays at the family home and summer days around the pool to winters in Jensen Beach and a lifetime shared with DeVere, the memories she created will live on through the family she loved so dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Mt Hope Lutheran Church, 8633 W. Becher from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Service at 12:00 PM.
