Connie Johnson was born on July 31, 1950, in Camden, Mississippi, to Eddie Sr. and Ozzie McMurtry. She attended Velma Ware Jackson High School before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1969 with her two sons, Randell and Andre McMurtry, to build a brighter future.

That same year, she met the love of her life, Sonny Johnson. They got married in June 1971 and built a loving home together, welcoming three more sons: Sonny Terrell, Jermaine, and Reginal Johnson. Connie’s greatest joy was her family, and she devoted herself to raising her five boys with love, strength, and wisdom.

For 40 years, Connie faithfully worked at E-Z Painter, where she was known for her dedication, loyalty, and remarkable work ethic. She believed in showing up, working hard, and taking pride in everything she did.

Connie found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing the Pick 3 Lottery, baking for family and friends, spending hours playing Candy Crush, and watching her favorite television shows. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the front porch, watching the neighborhood and enjoying conversations with those she loved.

She will always be remembered as sassy, stylish, straightforward, and full of laughter. Connie spoke her mind with honesty, loved deeply, and had a personality that could light up any room. Her unwavering faith in God, devotion to family, and generous heart left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.

Connie’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the values she instilled, and the countless memories shared with family and friends. Though she is deeply missed, her love will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
