David Simmons left a message on April 16, 2025:
I was a second-grade student of Mrs. Stollberg's at Edgewood School in 1977-78. On my way into work this morning, the song "Hot Lunch" from "Fame" popped into my head, and I was reminded of the production number she had choreographed for the second graders for the school talent show that year, as I have many times of the years (she might be amused to know that I went on to a career in musical theater!). I was saddened to read that she has left us, but wanted to share how warmly she is remembered by so many of us who had the privilege of being her students.

Courtney, I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was so full of life and always had a smile on her face. Heaven is lucky to have her.

Cherie has been a cherished friend for forty-eight years. We taught together, raised our children together, and babysat our grandchildren together. We have enjoyed hundreds of fun times and many of them were initiated by Cherie. There wasn’t a play, movie, celebration, or party that Cherie wasn’t interested in participating in. Her “spark” kept us on our toes. Cherie and I shared the same philosophy: “FAMILY comes first!” She lived it, and Courtney, Tammy, Tyler, Reece, Kira, and Kendall have hundreds of wonderful memories as proof. We will all miss her greatly. ❤️
