Charlotte Fay Hirschfeld (née Krueger)
With full hearts and deep sadness, we announce the passing of Charlotte Fay Hirschfeld, a woman whose love for her family, fierce loyalty, bold spirit, and boundless generosity shaped every life she touched. Charlotte passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the age of 79, held in the love of those who adored her most. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ernest (Jr.), with whom she shared 33 years of marriage.
Cherished mother of the late Duane Gary, Dawn (Tom) Tryba, and Ronnie (Toni) Hirschfeld, Charlotte poured her heart into her children and her grandchildren, who were the absolute light of her life: Emily (Derek) Westphal, Jessica (Ross) Miller, Bill (Ashley) Hirschfeld, and Anne Hirschfeld.
She is also loved and remembered by her siblings Cheryl (Danny) Holsten, Dale (Uta) Krueger, the late Sharon (Roy) Stott, and the late Harlan Krueger — as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. And of course, she is remembered alongside Lola, her loyal dog and constant companion later in life.
Those who knew Charlotte will always remember her sharp wit, humor, direct honesty, bold personality, and remarkable creativity—paired with her gift for making anyone feel at home. She carried a larger-than-life presence, grounded by a humble heart and a truly generous spirit.
A woman of exceptional work ethic and dedication, Charlotte served for more than 50 years as caretaker for Mound Zion Cemetery and decades for Wauwatosa Cemetery, St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, and the Sisters of Notre Dame. She tended to families with extraordinary respect, going far beyond duty to ensure every life was honored with dignity. Her kindness, attention to detail, and heartfelt care became her unmistakable hallmark.
Charlotte also had an extreme love for Elvis Presley, coordinating Elvis-impersonator shows that became legendary: crowds hundreds deep lining up just to attend the events she brought to life with pure passion. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and her creativity in bringing joy to others was unmatched.
Born in Shawano, Wisconsin, and a proud alum of Pulaski High School, Charlotte remained a lifelong resident of Wisconsin. She made the world softer through her kindness, brighter through her laughter, and more beautiful through her presence. Her spirit will remain woven into the hearts of all who loved her.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM CST. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM and procession to follow to Good Hope Cemetery in Greenfield, Wisconsin.
