Born on March 19, 1943 in Menominee, Michigan to Charles and Victoria Gladys (nee Slawinski). Charles J. Moker died unexpectedly yet peacefully at home on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Charles was a loving, devoted, and loyal husband to Linda J. (nee Friedmann) Moker. He was a loving endearing, and nurturing father to Charles F. and Kelly C. (nee Smith) Moker, Jennifer L. (nee Moker) and Chris J. Czubakowski, and Thomas J. Moker. He was a loving, affectionate, and playful grandfather “Papa” to Ethan J. Moker, Ella K. Moker, Colton R. Czubakowski, and Carly L. Czubakowski. He was a tender and warm hearted brother to Marlene Maas, Kenneth and wife Geri Moker, Lila and husband Bruce Pemper, David and wife Hollie Moker, Mary and husband Bob Bukowsky, Kathy Lemire, Douglas and wife Lucy Moker, John and wife Joan Moker, Deborah and husband Mark Kapke, and Timothy Moker. He was a caring godfather to Julie Scardina, Steven Pemper, and Andrew Moker. Charles is survived by many other family members, friends, and even strangers who will remember him dearly because everyone was a friend to him – he truly was that magnetic. Charles graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1962. While attending West Allis Central High School, Charles won the suburban heavyweight wrestling crown for two years and played football for the Bulldog team. Charles then served in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist from 1964 until 1966. By the age of 19 years old, Charles was named Manager of three West Allis George Webb hamburger parlors. Charles will be remembered fondly in our community for his extensive knowledge of farming and produce while proudly and happily sharing all of his harvest with family, friends, and neighbors. He will also be remembered for his lively interactions with everyone, and his impeccable customer service at the West Allis Farmers Market for over 50 years. Charles loved to cut his grass at home and the grass in the entire neighborhood if the neighbors would allow him to because he wanted his neighborhood “to look like a park”. Charles was every color of the rainbow and filled everyone’s souls with pure sunshine. He will be remembered for his captivating and charismatic personality to those who knew him and to every stranger he encountered. He had the most beautiful and tender loving heart and he always took care of everyone while never asking for anything in return. He taught us all what love truly is and always demonstrated the great importance of working hard, playing hard, and laughing so hard that our cheeks hurt while tears ran down our faces. He has left an imprint on all of our hearts that we will forever cherish.
