Carol E. Bartos

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 23, 2018, at age 84. Loving wife of Robert E. Bartos for 60 years. Beloved mother of Sue (Chris) Holm, Steve (Christine), Jeff “Howie”, Jean (Dave) Struebing, Sara Carpenter and John “Augie” (Angela). Devoted grandmother of Leanne (Garrett) Medina, Steve Holm, Anna and Sophie Bartos, Jaric Bartos, Nicole (Ryan) Piquette, Kristen Struebing, Brittany (Alex) Osvatic, Jonny Novitt, Maddy and Tanner Sackett, and Noah Bartos. Proud great-grandmother of Shira and Ellie Young, and Tommy Medina. Dear sister of Loren Meyer, Keith Meyer (Emily Auerbach), and the late Marilyn Van Antwerp. She was also loved and will be missed by additional family and friends.

Carol graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee. She went to Valparaiso University and graduated with a degree in Medical Technology. She interned at Milwaukee County General Hospital and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She married Robert in 1958 and they raised their family in Waukesha. They retired and moved to Eagle River, WI in 1998 where they spent time with family. Carol and Robert celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in April. Carol enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking and her motto was “art in daily living.”
