With faith in God’s promise of eternal life, Carol Spakowitz went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2026.
Carol was the beloved wife of Eugene “Gene” Spakowitz, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage after they were united in marriage on April 17, 1982. Together, Gene and Carol built a life centered on faith, family, and creating lasting memories. They especially enjoyed traveling to Florida and spent many happy years searching for the perfect home there—although they always said they never quite found “the right one.”
Carol is lovingly remembered by her husband, Gene; her stepchildren, Steven Spakowitz, Russell Spakowitz, and Gail Fink; her grandchildren, Nicholas Fex (Jamie), Danielle Galati (Andrew), Justin Spakowitz, Sheigh Spakowitz Perdue, and Sam Spakowitz (Pauline); her cherished nieces, Kaye Bauer (Daryl) and Carolyn Krueger; her sister-in-law, Susan Krukowski; her adored great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Bernard Sr. Krueger; her mother-in-law, Helen Bienkowski; her brother, Bernard “Bernie” Krueger Jr.; her sister-in-law, Shirley; her brother-in-law, Ronald Spakowitz; her stepson, Allen Spakowitz; her son-in-law, Kevin Fink; and many other beloved relatives.
Carol retired from Louis Allis in Milwaukee after many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Hales Corners and a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ozaukee Chapter #147. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and grace she shared with everyone she met.
An accomplished baker, Carol found great joy in creating recipes and sharing them with family and friends. She proudly contributed many of her favorite recipes to community cookbooks and especially enjoyed spending hours making large batches of homemade pierogi, one of her favorite traditions in the kitchen. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, unwavering kindness, and the warm smile that brightened every room. Her generous heart, gentle spirit, and steadfast faith touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
