I loved working with Dr Hasenyager at St Francis. She was so smart and caring. So good to her patients and staff. A loved person who will be missed.

I worked with Dr. Hasenyager at St. Francis Hospital. I not only liked her personally, but greatly admired how fiercely she advocated for the poor, the young and the disadvantaged among our patients. Wishing peace to her family upon the loss of a person who made our world better.

We met Carol and Karl as fellow pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. We were celebrating our 40th while they were exploring a new relationship. Their love for each other was vibrant and only grew deeper with each step on the 75 mile journey. I don't think they ever stopped smiling. We were taken in by Carol's kindness, inner joy and strong faith. We kept in touch and met again about a year later for mass at their beloved "Holy Hill", discussing a repeat Camino in the future. Carol was such a bright light, a tremendous example of how to live your faith. She will forever hold a place in our hearts. May God bless her soul.

I have such fond memories with Aunt Carol. I so appreciate her dry wit, deep kindness, and the love she showed to those around her. It was an honor to know her during her time here on earth. With love, Christina

Dear family of Carol, I thoroughly enjoyed partnering with Carol as Pastoral Ministers at St. Catherine's serving our tri-parish family. We were just getting started on a wonderful road of service together when she was suddenly taken from our midst. I truly believe she will be with me in my ministry now even closer than before. My deepest sympathies to Karl and all of your family and friends who knew her best! God bless you with peace.

Laura Cooley and Imad Abi-Saleh left a message on June 2, 2025:
We spent a few lovely Thanksgiving Day holidays with Carol and Brian and their kids, among other times when we gathered as family. We will always remember fondly her wry sense of humor and her unpretentious nature, which we found especially impressive given that we knew she was an outstanding surgeon who contributed greatly to the community. We well remember Thanksgiving Day holidays when she would have one eye on the turkey meal and dinner while no doubt juggling a pending birth at the same time. Somehow it always worked out. Her deep love and devotion to Emily and Ian were always evident. We extend our sympathy to all in this sudden and terrible loss. Sincerely, Laura Cooley and Imad Abi-Saleh (Seattle, WA)

Carol and I first met about 38 years ago when she joined the OB/GYN faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). She was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most considerate persons that I've ever known. Carol delivered my first child at MCW in 1989. We started a private practice on the east side of Milwaukee a few years after she joined MCW. She stalwartly covered the practice in my absence right after my second child was born. After my family and I moved to Michigan, Carol continued the practice for a few more years before pursuing other professional activities. After my family and I moved to Michigan, my family and I visited Carol and her family from time to time. After our children became adults, Ronald (my husband) and I visited Carol occasionally. We kept in touch in between the visits. Ronald and I were discussing contacting Carol to get together this summer when we received the devastating news of Carol's sudden death; we grieve her loss. Ronald and I are grateful for the time that we spent with Carol. May she rest in peace until we meet again. In the hope of the resurrection. Grace and Peace to Carol's family.

I am one of many RN's who worked with Dr. Hasenyager at Aurora Sinai. The warmth of her smile and concern for the health and wellbeing of all members of the families she cared for was second to none. My thoughts are with her family. She will be missed. Shalom.

Emily and Ian, It was a blessing to know and celebrate Thanksgivings with your mom. We broke bread, shared in playing games and she made us feel at home. We will keep her in our hearts and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Uncle Stuart and Aunt DeDe
