Carmen Caroline Holm passed away peacefully at her home on February 5, 2025, surrounded by her husband, and her family.
Carmen was born on March 6, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to James and Catherine Burger. Surviving are Phillip Holm, husband, half-sister Wanda Backlund, daughter- Jennifer Colon; daughter-Tracey Grentz (husband Dietmar), son- Lonnie Holm (wife Sheri), and son- Keith Holm. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by Carmen’s father James Burger, mother Catherine Burger, sister Dolores Comstock, brother Richard Burger, sister Jeannie Colon, brother James Burger Jr “George,” and daughter in-law Christina Holm.
Carmen and Phil were married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 20, 1958, and were together for the past 67 years. Carmen worked in a physician’s office as office manager for much of her working life. She enjoyed visiting historical sites, she was the matriarch of the family and loved her family dearly. She also loved gospel music, especially the Gaither Vocal Band, Blackwood Brothers, and Speer Family. Carmen experienced a close relationship with God and was a lay pastor for her church. She enjoyed sharing her faith, preaching sermons, and praying for others.
A celebration of life will be held at the Waukesha Seventh-Day Adventist church, 21380 West Cleveland Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Saturday February 22, 2025. Visitation with the family will begin at 2:00 PM, with the service following at 2:30 PM.
