Carlton P. Burgess

Was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife of 66 years, Elaine (nee Kamrath), on April 30, 2018, at the age of 95. He was born on June 3, 1922 in Stillwater MN, the son of George and Elsie (nee Guse) Burgess. Proudly served in the US Army Air Force during WWII, as a sergeant radio operator. He was interned in Russia for which he was awarded a POW medal. His work in the military led him to early TV broadcasting. He was an engineer at WTMJ for 35 years, retiring in 1984. Loving father of Karen Burgess, Diane (Don) Horan, Carlton (Mary Pat) Burgess Jr., and Robert Burgess. Cherished grandfather of Stacia (Chad) Rocheford, Ryan Curchy, Andrew Burgess, Patrick (Nozomi) Burgess, Kathryn Burgess, Nicholas and Lucas Burgess. Great-grandfather of Amelia O’Conner, Reese and Graham Rocheford and Yuna Joy Burgess. Also loved by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his brother Howard Burgess and sister Lucille Crowley.

Visitation at Covenant Lutheran Church, 8121 West Hope Avenue, on Friday, May 4, 2018, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Service 11:00 AM. Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
