Carl H. Tyggum, began his journey home on June 9, 2024 at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of Donna for 63 loving years. Loving father of Nancy (Mark) Terrian, and grandfather of Gabriela, Alexandra, John, Joshua, Amy and Anna. Carl was preceded in death by his son, David; his parents Hubert and Velva Tyggum; and his best friend, Robert “Bopper” Kreul.
Carl was a teacher of history, physical education and drivers ed, and also a passionate coach. Carl had a great love of athletics and sports, excelling in baseball, basketball and tennis. He was a hall of famer at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. He was a tennis pro at Western Raquet Club, a longtime member of Elmbrook Tennis Club and helped organize and play in many Senior Olympics events. He was the epitome of a Pewaukee Pirate fan, where you would always see him watching, supporting and cheering on basketball, baseball, soccer, football and any athletic event.
Carl was a lifelong member of Elmbrook Church. He was involved in men’s and couple’s Bible studies. He was a lifetime member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he led many student athletes to the Lord. He was great man of faith and loved Jesus. One of his well-known sayings was “make Jesus look good”, which he did every day of his life. He has had a large impact on many throughout his life.
His greatest joy were his grandchildren, but also watching and supporting them compete and excel in their sporting events.
