Brittany attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison (2008) with a degree in Education. She completed her education at Grand Canyon University (2010) where she earned a masters of Art in teaching English as a Second Language. Brittany was a natural born educator. She taught for 15 years before she made the difficult decision to focus on her health and her family.
Brittany and her wife were foster parents for 6 years before adopting 2 children who joined Phoenix to complete their family. A staunch advocate for human rights, Brittany believed all children deserved the same opportunities and resources. Her focus as a parent and a teacher was to meet children where they are at and raise them up. This was not just a value but truly a calling. She genuinely loved living life and never wanted a minute to be wasted. Her entire existence has been wrapped in positivity, kindness, compassion, faith and love.
While her absence is loud and undeniable, those closest to her are committed to living with her courage, purpose and zest for life.
