Aston, BettyLynn Lorraine “Belly” (Fett)
Following a brief hospitalization, BettyLynn passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Medical Center on June 3, 2025 at the age of 90. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Gerald Aston; by her devoted children: Mike (Candi) Aston, Wendy (Sandi Hall) Franke, and Laurie (Joe) Giera; by her cherished grandchildren: Danielle (Andy) Lewis, Caitlyn (Steve) Thompson, Matt (Katelyn) Franke, Rebecca (Derek) Neuman, Kassie (Robby) Schultz, Jen (Alex) Slivinski, Trevor (Bria) Aston, Jon (Kristen) Giera, and Alex (Katie McCarthy) Franke; as well as ten precious great-grandchildren: Isla, Noah, Jack, Josephine, Emerson, River, Briar, Paisley, Payton, and Owen.
Beyond her dedicated care of her family, BettyLynn was also an accomplished pianist, a formidable cribbage player, and created many beautiful cross-stitch projects over the years. She had a sharp intellect and dry sense of humor and instigated many hi-jinks over the years with friends and family alike. She was still doing the daily crossword puzzle in the Journal-Sentinel prior to her hospitalization, and her family and friends have fond memories of time spent at Woody’s Resort during the summers and time spent at one another’s homes in their neighborhood in West Allis. Grandma Belly taught all her grandchildren how to play cribbage before they knew how to ride a bike. BettyLynn loved a trip to a casino or a trip to another country; she and Jerry visited all 50 of the United States and more than 10 countries on five continents.
Her career as a Legal Secretary began when her last child started school, and she chose a workplace that would allow her to be present for every event her children participated in. Most of that career was spent with Robert Abendroth and BettyLynn considered him the best lawyer and best boss she could have asked for.
All her friends and family will miss her deeply. In the words of her children, “You were one of the best! You were everything the three of us could have ever wanted in a mother. Thank you for literally everything, Mom. We love you!”
Visitation and a Memorial Service will be at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and the Service will follow at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blessed Savior Lutheran Church in New Berlin, WI or the Ronald McDonald House organization.
