Betty Ann Rhone (nee Batzler)

Betty Rhone passed peacefully on December 26, 2025 at the age of 85. Preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Grace Batzler. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Clare, and her children Peggy (Blaine) Neupert, Stefanie Rhone, and Vickie (Scott) Kent, as well as her granddaughters Hannah and Grace.  She is also survived by her sister Dorothy (Charles) Godgluck, her brother Kenneth (Marge) Batzler, her sister-in-law Joanne Batzler, and preceded in death by her brother Robert Batzler.

Betty was born and raised in Milwaukee, and graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1958.  While attending Nurse’s training, she met her future husband, Clare, on a blind date. They married November 27, 1965, and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary November of 2025.

Betty had a green thumb, and loved to work in her yard.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she had the most beautifully decorated Christmas trees.  She loved to travel, make puzzles, read, shop ,and go to the car races at Angell Park Speedway.  She always looked forward to watching Packer games on TV. Her 2 granddaughters were her pride and joy.

Betty was a retired Registered Nurse, with a career of 37 years spent entirely in the operating room.  She graduated from Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing in 1961.  She was employed by Misericordia until 1966, took several years off when her children were born, and then began working at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in 1969.  She worked at Elmbrook until she retired.

The family would like to thank the staff at Congregational Home and St. Camillus Hospice for their exceptional kindness and care.

Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home in New Berlin on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. Committal will be held privately at a later date. For more information, please see the Krause website.
