The breath of life entered the physical body of Barbara Jean Miller on October 12, 1956. She was born to the late Thomas and Dollie M. Miller. She became the fourth of 10 children.
Barbara received her formal elementary education under the Catholic teaching at St. Boniface and Holy Angels Schools. Middle School: Parkman Jr High, High school: Rufus King High School, and graduated in 1975. She pursued higher education at UW Madison and received a degree in Nursing. She used that degree to teach at MPS. She was an awesome teacher who always pushed for excellence from her students. Barbara was like an “Aunt” to many of her students as she continued to mentor them into adulthood.
Barbara accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. During her Christian walk, she settled on New Testament Church under the leadership of Pastor Julius R. Malone, where she was an active member until her health began to fail. Barbara embarked on Liturgical Dance, she was an amazing spirit filled dancer who often performed at numerous events around the city… that was her “gift”.
Barbara was a true Fashionista who was always very well put together and glamorous. She was the lady that walked into a room and heads turned towards her grace and beauty. She enjoyed giving out helpful fashion tips.
Barbara never met a stranger, she had a beautiful smile and always had a word to share with anyone she came in contact with.
