Edge, Barbara Joanne
(Nee Visintainer) This past Tuesday, December 27, 2022, was a time of great reunion. At 83 years of age, Barb was reunited with her cherished mother and father, as well as other family and friends who met our Lord before her. Loving mother of Marcia Edge of West Allis, and Karen (Thomas) Jones of Ocala, Florida. Proud grandma of Benjamin and Robert Jones. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marian (nee Bergquist) Visintainer. Dear sister of Sandra (Robert) Barkow. Adored aunt of Kathleen (John) Ford and Matthew (Stephanie) Barkow. Beloved great-aunt of Kayla, Kendall and Carson Ford, and Colin and Gavin Barkow. Further survived by special friends, Steve Bak and Jim Blinn, as well as many other much-loved family members and friends.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 9:30-11am, immediately followed by a Christian service. Private burial with immediate family at Highland Cemetery in New Berlin. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Barbara’s name would be appreciated.
A graduate of Solomon Juneau High School and Milwaukee County Nursing School, Barbara was a dedicated registered nurse, with more than 40 years of service, mainly in the labor and delivery department, as Milwaukee County Hospital evolved into Froedtert Hospital. She raised her family in Greendale, where she enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, knitting, baking, gardening, and taking part in Bible study. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
“You are reading in the newspaper that I am dead. Do not believe a word of it, for I am more alive than ever before.” D.L. Moody.
Barb is now with our Lord, in Heaven.
