Barbara (Barb) Hucke, born April 30, 1959, passed away on May 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she held so dear. Barb was a woman whose life was defined by faith, strength, and unwavering love for others. Even in her final moments, Barb reflected the peace and faith she carried throughout her life, telling her loved ones, “I’m so happy,” knowing the joy that awaited her in Heaven.
Barb was the beloved wife of Bob Hucke, the love of her life, with whom she shared 42 beautiful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, laughter, and unconditional love. She was a devoted mother to Jim (Nikki), Nick (Kendra), Lindsey (Weston), and her late son Bradley (Maria). There is comfort in knowing they are now reunited. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kenley, Braysen, Myles, Korbin, Teagan, Sutton, and Dylan, each of whom brought her endless joy.
One of eight siblings, Barb shared a close bond with her family and is lovingly remembered by her sisters Patti (Werner), Cathy, and Margaret (Dan), and her brothers Fred (Lori), Jim (Jackie), and Bobby (Pam). She was preceded in death by her son Bradley, her brother Michael, her parents Catherine and Fred Brown, her in-laws Bette and David Hucke, her niece Liz Witkowski, her niece Andrea Czarnecki, and her great-nephew Macklin Karius.
Barb also shared a special bond with Bob’s siblings, who became family to her in every sense of the word. She treasured her relationships with Geri, Dan (Cheryl), Jill (Jeff), Jackie (Mike), Jenny (John), and Mike (Shelly).
For more than 40 years, Barb served as a Registered Nurse, dedicating much of her career to the newborn nursery, where her gentle spirit and compassion touched countless families. Caring for others was simply who she was. She had a rare ability to make people feel calm, comforted, and deeply understood. Whether someone shared their fears, struggles, or joys, Barb listened without judgment and loved without limits.
Her home was the center of countless gatherings, filled with laughter, pool days, cookouts, and memories that will be cherished forever. She especially loved time spent up north with her children and grandchildren. Barb showed her love in so many ways, whether through pans of homemade lasagna and banana bread, thoughtful gifts at Christmas, or simply opening her home and heart to anyone in need. Her generosity knew no bounds.
Barb also found joy in life’s simple treasures. She loved shopping at Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul, always searching for the perfect find, and she was a talented seamstress who lovingly created clothing and beautiful pieces for family and friends.
Her friendships were lifelong and abundant. So many people felt they were Barb’s best friend because she made everyone feel valued, loved, and important. She was funny, witty, and often the source of comic relief, even during difficult times. Her smile, strength, and selflessness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Barb’s legacy lives on through the family she adored, the countless lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a faithful servant, loving wife and mother, proud grandmother, devoted nurse, loyal friend, and truly beautiful soul.
