Audrey Wiefelspuetz, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026 surrounded by family.
She lived a full and vibrant life defined by her love of family, community and adventure. An avid traveler, she embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm, always eager for her next journey and the memories it would bring.
She shared a remarkable love story with her husband Howard, whom she met in the game of Sheepshead when she sat in for him at the table – a moment that would change both of their lives. They married in 1951 and spent 48 wonderful years together until his passing in November of 1999. Their partnership was filled with laughter, companionship, and a deep devotion to one another.
Family was her greatest pride and joy. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and built a legacy of warmth, resilience, and unconditional love that will continue for generations.
She was a dedicated volunteer at West Allis Memorial Hospital, where she gave generously of her time and spirit to help others. Her faith was also an important part of her life – baptized at First Lutheran Church, she remained a devoted and cherished member and volunteer of the congregation throughout her years.
She had a lifelong love of Sheepshead, playing regularly in monthly games for many years where she formed lasting friendships and shared countless laughs. She also found great joy in her involvement in a quilting club, where she combined her creativity with her kindness, helping to make blankets for those in need and forming meaningful friendships she deeply valued.
Together with Howard, she spent 14 winters in their Florida home, creating a tradition filled with sunshine and companionship. After his passing, she continued spending her winters in Florida for another 24 years building a vibrant social circle and touching the lives of many dear friends.
She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Howard Wiefelspuetz and cherished son, Gary Wiefelspuetz, who brought her great pride and joy. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jean Rudy (Fiancé Jim Vallicelli); granddaughters, Amy Eastham (Robert), Kristin Rudy, Karey Wiefelspuetz, and Kimberly Serani (Massimo); and eight great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry her love and legacy forward.
She will be remembered for her energy, her kindness, her unwavering love for her family and her ability to bring people together. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in a life so fully lived. In the end, we know that the batteries have simply run out of our energizer bunny, but her spirit will keep going strong in all of us.
Please join us as we gather with love and gratitude to celebrate her beautiful life on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Visitation will be held at First Lutheran Church from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM, followed by a service and a time of sharing over lunch. Your presence would mean so much as we honor her memory and the joy she brought into our lives.
